THE turn-over ceremony of Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (NIR) for the retirement of Chief Superintendent Renato Gumban will be held at Bacolod Pavillon Hotel around 2 p.m., Friday, May 19.

The ceremony will be led by Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario, deputy chief for administration of Philippine National Police (PNP).

The program includes presentation of awards and turn-over of office symbol, and property and equipment. It will be followed by a testimonial dinner in the evening.

Gumban will be succeeded by Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales from the PNP Maritime Group. He is from Iloilo City.

Gumban will officially retire from the police service on May 21 at 55 years old, the mandatory retirement age in the PNP.

He was acting director of PRO-NIR for almost nine months, succeeding retired Chief Superintendent Conrado Capa, who was designated as first director of PRO-18 in November 2015.
