THE Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club (RPVGCC) was currently in fourth spot as the Aviator division of the 31st Philippine Airlines (PAL) Senior Interclub golf team championships resumed at Apo Golf and Country Club in Davao City Friday, February 24.
RPVGCC garnered 112 on third day of action for a total of 357 points, 23 points behind leader Manila Southwoods (380) in the annual event backed by platinum sponsors Mareco Broadcasting Network, A&E Networks Asia, RMN Networks, The Manila Standard, Fox Networks Group, Rolls-Royce, TV5, MasterCard, TFC and Business Mirror.
Jose Marfori paced RPVGCC with 41 points while Victor Gonzales and Tamio Sakurai added 37 and 34, respectively.
Manila Southwoods, for its part, accounted for 129 on Day 3 from the efforts of Eduard Sison (49), Raul Olea (40) and Bobby Iñigo.
Alta Vista Golf and Country Club, which amassed 374 following a 119 third day output, was second as it relied on Ramon Sebastian (42), HospicioRazon (41) and Emir Abutazil.
Rivier Golf (372) came third while (354), Fil Am Hawaii (350), Camp Evangelista (346), Zamboanga Golf and Country Club (344), Lanang Golf Club (336) and Team Coral Ocean Point (325) wounded up in the top 10 of the category that attracted 24 entries.
The Davao City Golf Club and Apo Golf and Country Club, third and fourth, respectively, on Day 2, were still playing third round in Founders Division as of Friday.
In Sportswriters, Baguio Country Club grabbed the lead with 326 points while South Cotabato Golf Club (325) and San Juanico Park Golf & Country Club (319) occupied the next two places even as FilAm Hawaii led International division with 350 points.
