A RETIRED army is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms after police recovered unlicensed guns and several ammunition inside his house at Hacienda Guba, Barangay Alijis in Valladolid, Negros Occidental on October 22.
Charges for violation of Section 28 of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act was filed on Monday against Ramil de Leon, 50.
Chief Inspector Joemarie Occeño, chief of Valladolid Municipal Police Station, said they raided De Leon’s house through a search warrant.
Police seized from De Leon’s residence a .38 caliber, a homemade Smith and Wesson firearm, an airgun, seven magazines of 5.56 caliber, seven steel magazines
of 5.56 caliber, four magazines of 5.56 caliber, holster, five live ammunition of .38 caliber, seven bullets of .38 caliber, and 155 live ammunition of 5.56 caliber.
In another development, Cyril Mae Calzado, 27, of Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City was arrested after she sold illegal drug shabu to a police for P200 in a buy-bust at Bangga Bagul, Barangay Granada on Sunday.
Calzado also yielded an elongated sachet of shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, and P40 cash.
