RIVERSIDE College (RC) placed runner up to men’s team champion De La Salle-Lipa, but the pair of Polo Borromeo and Rodolfo Carballo took the doubles title to steal the show in UniGames badminton in Dumaguete City.
RC’s Godwin Torres likewise finished third in the men’s singles tying Kinneth Arcenal of Foundation University (FU). Mac Marfa of DLS-Lipa took the gold and Quiven Rocillo of FU came in second.
FU finished third and Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion placed fourth in the men’s division.
DLS-Lipa women finished 1-2-3 through Jona Juanillo, Samantha Citron and Grace Baltazar. University of the Immaculate Conception’s Nichole Trinidad also tied at third.
In women’s volleyball, University of the East (UE) conquered University of Mindanao (UM)-Davao in five sets while Holy Angel University (HAU) beat Silliman University (SU) in four sets.
Three sets winners were DLS-Araneta over UM-Davao; University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos against DLS-A and University of Perpetual Help System (UPHS) versus University of San Carlos (USC).
In men’s volleyball, five-set winners were DLS-A over HAU; Adamson University over National University; DLS-A against SU; UM-Tagum over Rizal Technological University (RTU) and UE against UM-Davao. Only victors in four sets was UM-Davao against Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod (CSA-B).
The rest were triumphant in three: DLS-College of St. Benilde (CSB) over CSA-B; FEU over UPHS; USC vs. UNO-R; University of Sto. Tomas over DLS-CSB; USC vs UMT; UST over UMD; FEU against FU; DLSU over UMT; USC against RTU; UPHS-Dalta over FU; and HAU over SU.
In men’s basketball, HAU defeated CSA-B, 81-62; Colegio de Sta. Ana of Victorias clipped DLS-Araneta, 75-67; University of San Agustin whipped ACSAT of Dumaguete, 70-65; Holy Cross of Davao College demolished CSA-Bacolod, 81-61; and UNO-R stopped FU, 64-57.
University of the Philippines and De La Salle University were scoreless in men’s football while DLS-CSB blanked SU, 4-0.
