Rosario: Quoted

Published on

HAVE you ever been quoted?

Well, if you have, because you have said something positive, useful, worth repeating and remembering, I hope you find it an honor. Feel blessed, that you are leaving a legacy for others. You must have been gifted with wisdom, a tinge of it; or lots of it.

In my younger days, I used to hear teachers and intelligent classmates quote words of wisdom from authors, people of influence, and other gifted people. I took them all for granted. Those were the stuff that I would only put in slam books and graduation yearbooks, but not use them, or live up to them.

However, when I was into putting up business endeavors, I would think of slogans, mottos, quotes, and short phrases to describe them.

For example…

The French line: “Deliciously Different”. Dennis Anthony’s Pharmacy: “A name you can trust”. Hotel Veniz: “We Pamper”. Hotel Veniz – Burnham: “A Gem in the Heart of Baguio”. Hotel Veniz – Session – “A Haven in the Heart of Baguio”. V Hotel and Apartel – “Serenity in the Heart of Baguio”, etc.

But my daughter, Jessica, and son, David, beat me in the naming and quoting fun “game”, by calling their new food outlet, “QUOTED CAFÉ”.

Earlier, I had strong reservations against said name. I found it “hard” to pronounce and remember. I would have preferred “Q Café”. I was overruled and stared at. [Weird was how they saw the name I would have preferred]

Anyway, when I surrendered trying to convince them, I accepted their “weird” and what I thought would be a difficult to market name of “QUOTED CAFÉ”.

Yesterday, the café was blessed in simple ceremonies by Fr. Alejandro of San Pablo Seminary, with just the family and staff in attendance.

Today, April 28, it opens its doors to the public at the ground floor of V Hotel and Apartel, located at No. 14 Bukaneg St., Baguio.

My dearest friends,

Come to Quoted Café and try out their delicious food for the tummy.

Nothing beats the Sriracha Bacon with Nutella Dip [P180] as an appetizer. Actually, I would want to try it with rice and have it for a meal. Our guests, the Valencias, from California were very happy with the Longganisa Pasta [P165] and the Lengua in Creamy Mushroom Sauce [P215].

You must try the Strawberry Cucumber Cooler [P75] and the Hot or Cold Macadamia White Mocha [P90].

End your meal with the Red Velvet Oreos with Ice Cream [P120].

Of course, it is not called QUOTED for nothing. Enjoy the ambiance [free] and be filled with food for the soul and the brain with the QUOTES posted all around.

Finally, feast on the art works drawn on stones by their mother and my wife, Angie.

Quote from Matthew 4:4 “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval”
