A DRUG personality under the target list of San Enrique Municipal Police Station died while another was injured after they were shot by an unidentified man Friday at Sitio Utod, Barangay Poblacion in San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Hernando “Tigor” Delis Jr., 32, and the injured victim as Rey Jayme, 40.

Senior Inspector Rey Molas, town police chief, said Delis and Jayme were playing a card game with others in a wake when a commotion occurred, then a gunfire followed, at around 9:35 p.m.

Delis was shot at close range, and died immediately while Jayme was brought to the hospital, where he is recuperating. The incident happened 50 meters away from Delis's house.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime two empty cartridges and two slugs of .45 caliber.

Molas said Delis was identified as a drug pusher and has already surrendered to police a month ago, but Jayme has no involvement in illegal drug activity.

Police are eyeing failed transaction as the motive.
