THE San Enrique Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental asked town residents to be vigilant following reports of sightings of three unidentified men wearing bonnets on board a green van without plate number.
Town Police Chief Rey Molas said they received information on Friday morning, July 14, from a man who claimed that said persons attempted to abduct his child on Thursday evening.
Molas said the men failed to take his child when the father asked for help. The men then escaped heading towards La Carlota City.
Upon receiving such report, they informed nearby police stations to be on alert, he added.
Molas said they also posted an advisory on their social media account on Friday to inform the people of San Enrique about the incident.
He added that two towns in southern Negros also had similar incidents a month ago.
Molas said they are intensifying their visibility patrol operations in the town.
He also advised residents to be on alert, to be on guard, and to immediately report to the police suspicious persons or occurrences.
