THE City of San Fernando Water District (CSFWD) opened Tuesday, July 4, its 37th pumping station in Del Pilar village with the new facility equipped with a bulk water container that ensures safe drinking water for concessionaires.
The station is part of the ongoing development and supply improvement of the water utility as part of its partnership with PrimeWater.
PrimeWater engineer Roberto Umali Jr. said that the facility will replace the old pumping station in the area and will provide water to some 2,000 concessionaires.
The facility has a capacity to store 300 cubic meters of water and can serve the areas of Moraz Dela Paz in Sto. Tomas town, Santa Lucia and Del Pilar in this city, among others.
CSFWD board chairman engineer Ferdinand Caylao said that the water utility is continuously looking for ways to further improve the water supply and services.
Caylao said that the ongoing developments in the city will be a challenge for the water utility and its partner PrimeWater to meet the water requirements of such developments.
CSFWD and PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp. sealed a contractual joint venture (JV) for 25 years.
PrimeWater is a wholly-owned Filipino company with more than 30 years in professional water operations. It operates 250 deep wells in various parts of the country, supplying also water to large residential subdivisions. It runs three big bulk water projects in Iloilo, Albay and Zamboanga and has JVs with 13 water districts.
CSFWD general manager Jorge Gumba said, “Given the capacities and expertise of PrimeWater, we are confident that CSFWD’s 25-year plan worth P2.9 billion will be fully accomplished in support of the City of San Fernando as the business capital of Pampanga and regional capital of Central Luzon.”
