DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, in a memorandum released last May 8, designated lawyer Tristan Dwight Domingo as the acting city administrator from May 23 to 31.
Based on the memo, Domingo shall assume the duties and responsibilities for the position while City Administrator Lawyer Zuleika Lopez participates to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) study tour under the Davao Infra Planning Project which will be held in Japan.
Due to Lopez's absence, Domingo was mandated to oversee overall operations of all the City Government departments or offices and perform such other duties as may be directed by the city mayor from time to time.
Previously, representatives from Jica met with the city officials to discuss the Davao Infrastructure Planning Project.
In previous reports, the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) in Davao Region and Jica have partnered for a one-year infrastructure development project in Davao City.
The project has been created to develop an urban infrastructure development plan for the city following the Kitakyushi City model.
The focus of this urban infrastructure development plan is on the urban transportation system, water supply, solid waste management with the short-term target year of 2022 and the long-term target year of 2045.
Both the planning and implementation will already be included in the target schedule. (With reports from JPA)
