THE new home for the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) referees officially opened Wednesday, October 19, at the J. Palma Gil St. Poblacion District, fronting The Royal Mandaya Hotel, in Davao City.
The SBP Referee's Region 11 Office, initiated by SBP board of trustee Glenn Escandor, who is also SBP regional director, was blessed by Fr. Calixtro Peligrino who offered a prayer of success for the organization and its members.
The ribbon-cutting was spearheaded by SBP liaison officer Ronel Leuterio who was accompanied by SBP Davao City commissioner Oscar Salvador, SBP regional commissioner Francis Calatrava, SBP education committee Billy Cruzada, SBP head of discipline Demy Buladaco, SBP advisers Macario Cabonce, Danny Daliri, and Tony Arnlain.
SBP officials and members then had their lunch at the Royal Mandaya Hotel that was followed by a short meeting.
The SBP officials imparted their suggestions to referees who were provided with new sets of uniforms.
Leuterio told the referees, "Do your best in your job, kasi binibigay namin yung mga kailangan ninyo because we wanted you to be treated with respect."
