THE co-accused of Australian pedophile Peter Gerard Scully for trafficking was arrested by the policemen at Tirso-Neri Streets, Barangay 18, Cagayan de Oro City Thursday, February 16.
Chief Inspector Maricris Mulat, Police Station 1 Chief, identified Scully's supposed accomplice as Maria Dorothea Chia, 30, who has four warrants of arrest for two counts of qualified trafficking in persons and another two counts of child pornography issued by different courts.
Mulat said they have been tracking the whereabouts of Chia until her arrest on Thursday.
"Kadlawon pa nagsugod nami sa operation ug tanan posible niya puy-an among gi-adtoan (We started the operation at dawn and we went to the places she might have stayed)," Mulat said.
Chia was presented to the court Thursday afternoon and currently detained at the Police Station 1. She will be transferred to the City Jail in Barangay Lumbia, Friday, February 17.
Late last month, Scully's live-in partner Liezyl Margallo was also arrested in Malapascua, Cebu.
Margallo, a native of Claveria, Misamis Oriental, became an accomplice to Scully's operation in making films of him raping and torturing children.
Scully, who has been detained at the City Jail since 2015, is facing a total of 75 charges on trafficking in persons and other offenses.
In the 69 cases handled by the Department of Justice, other respondents who are still at large are Christian Johann Rothe, Alexander Lao, Haniel Caetano de Oliveira and Marshall Ruskin.
