Security set for Black Nazarene procession

SECURITY measures are in place for the celebration of the Feast Day of Black Nazarene on Tuesday, January 9.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has issued an Executive Order No. BC-323-2018 rerouting flow of traffic and temporarily placed one-way in some of the streets downtown.

Salazar said it is to pave way for the procession of the Black Nazarene from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The security measures was readied by the local police in partnership with the organizers of the Black Nazarene Feast Day and City Administrator’s Office

The procession is set to start at 3 p.m. with the following route: Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (MCIC) in La Purisima Street, left to Governor Alvarez Avenue, left to Mayor Jaldon Street, straight to Climaco Avenue, left to Governor Lim Avenue, left to La Purisima Street to end at MCIC.

Security personnel will be detailed along the route of the procession to ensure the safety of the Black Nazarene devotees. (VoxPop Philippines)
