FORMER Bureau of Customs (BOC) chief Nicanor Faeldon will be arrested if he will fail to attend anew the Senate investigation next Monday into the P6.4 billion worth of shabu smuggled into the country in May.
Faeldon's repeated absences during hearings of the Senate blue ribbon committee prompted panel chair, Senator Richard Gordon, to cite him in contempt.
In a letter sent to the Senate on Thursday's hearing, Faeldon said he will not attend the probe as he no longer have faith in the impartiality of some of its members.
Faeldon instead urged his critics to file a case against him in court.
Senator Panfilo Lacson earlier named Faeldon as among the major recipients of bribes or "tara" in the BOC.
Faeldon denied the allegations against him and responded to Lacson by accusing his son of being involved in smuggling activities. (VoxPop Philippines)
