SENIOR Superintendent William Señoron, acting director of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo), clarified on Thursday that Police Officer 1 (PO1) Leopoldo Delloso was dismissed from the service due to grave misconduct related to the administrative case filed against him five years ago while he was still assigned at Escalante City Police Station.
It was initially reported that Delloso was issued a dismissal order by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) for a pending administrative case for grave misconduct in relation to the death of a drunk man whom he assaulted in front of the said police station in June last year.
Señoron said Delloso’s other administrative case was filed by the family of Jason Brinquez, who died of internal hemorrhage after the police officer punch him in the stomach when he attempted to hack him and take his firearm while creating alarm and scandal.
Delloso was disarmed and relieved from Escalante City Police Station and was transferred to Nocppo headquarters.
He was then re-assigned to Toboso Municipal Police Station after Brinquez’s family failed to file criminal charges against him, Señoron said.
