A DAY after he was relieved from his post as acting director of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo), Senior Superintendent William Señoron was transferred to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame from Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
He was assigned at the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) at the national headquarters.
Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, public information officer of PRO-NIR, confirmed Thursday that the order came from PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa. It was signed on March 28.
Señoron, who served as Nocppo chief for 15 months, was one of the policemen implicated in the illegal drug trade by the region’s top drug suspect Ricky Serenio.
Serenio, who was believed to be the bagman of Berya drug group, accused Señoron of receiving protection money from their group in his first sworn statement. He also claimed that Señoron is getting monthly payola of P1.2 million from the drug lords in the province on his supplemental affidavit.
However, Señoron firmly stands that he is not involved in any illegal activities.
He is willing to be investigated for as long as all evidences will be based on facts and will be validated thoroughly.
Senior Superintendent Rolando Miranda, chief of regional directorial staff, temporarily replaced Señoron as officer-in-charge of the police provincial office.
