GENESIS “Azukal” Servania finally got another boxing title after two years – the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific featherweight belt.
The 25-year-old Bacolod City pride, currently fighting under Kashimi boxing gym in Japan, remained undefeated with 19 victories, including 12 knockouts after stopping Filipino compatriot Ralph Jhon Lulu in two rounds over the weekend at Sangyo Hall in Kanazawa, Japan.
The barrage of punches hurled by Servania against Lulu forced the referee to step in and stop the contest.
“I’m happy that I was given again the opportunity to fight in the championship. It’s been a while I had my last title fight,” Servania said. “I’m very thankful to everyone who prayed and supported me especially my family,” he added.
His manager is looking at a title fight for him soon.
“They have a plan for me to fight in the world championship. But I don’t know the details yet. I’m just waiting for their decision,” he added.
Servania is ranked No. 4 in the WBO junior featherweight ruled by undefeated American champion Jessie Magdaleno (25-0 with 18 KOs) and No. 9 in the IBF kinged by Japanese Yukinori Oguni (19-1 with 7 KOs).
The recent win also earned him the top 15 of the featherweight division ruled by Mexican undefeated champion Oscar Valdez (20-0 with 18 KOs). (HGD)
