SACRED Heart of Jesus Montessori School’s 18-under team and R-ACE Basketball Camp’s 15-under squad will represent Cagayan de Oro in the national finals of the Wilson 3 on 3 basketball challenge later this year in Manila.
This, after the wards of veteran coach Edgardo Dacoco and the youthful charges of Barangay Patag kagawad Ronald Enerio Acenas and coach Tristan Mark Pagente ruled the Cagayan de Oro leg of the Wilson 3 on 3 hoopfest held at St. Mary’s Academy gym in brgy. Carmen, over the weekend.
“This is our first in as far as the R-ACE Basketball Camp is concerned. So, happy kaayo ang mga bata nga nag-qualify sila sa national finals,” said Acenas in acknowledging the triumphant effort of Kurt Aaron Gelogo, Louis Andre Joring, Tryon Limar Langala and Miguel Salapuddin in the 15-under boys rivalry.
Multi-titled coach Dacoco also guided the foursome of Paul Steven Babate, Jhunry Menaling, Rafael Porcadilla and Steven Rey Bernat of Sacred Heart to the 18-under boys national championship.
Coming from as far as Zamboanga City, more than 60 teams have participated in the streetball challenge organized by Motivation Builds Champions (MBC) group through its local coordinator James Racines.
