IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -- As the local power cooperative here braces for the special elections of some members of its Board of Directors next month, the management expects the elections to be successful.
Engr. Kenneth M. Albrecht, acting general manager of Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative II (Zamsureco), expressed his optimism of "a successful elections for the board of directors for Districts 3, 4, and 6."
The special elections will be held in the following districts and dates: District 4, February 4; District 3, February 11; and District 6, February 18.
"Actually, this is a special elections since the Annual General Membership Assembly (Agma) is moved from February to August as decided during last year's assembly," Albrecht told VoxPop Philippines.
Last year's 34th Agma was held at R.T. Lim town in this province.
There is a need now to hold the elections of the directors in the three districts since their term of office has already ended, in which "we cannot wait until August to hold the elections," Albrecht said.
Zamsureco II, headquartered in Sanito village in this town, has seven districts, namely: Districts 1 - Lakewood, Kumalarang, Bayog, in Zamboanga del Sur and Buug town in Zamboanga Sibugay; 2 - Alicia, Malangas, Diplahan, and Imelda; 3 - Payao, Kabasalan, and Siay; 4 - Naga, Ipil, and Titay; 5 - R.T. Lim, tungawan, Vitali in Zamboanga City; 6 - Sibuco, Sirawai, Siocon, and Baliguian in Zamboanga del Norte; and 7 - Talusan, Mabuhay, and Olutanga.
"We are looking forward to another year of vibrant and productive with the complete Board of Directors after the elections," Albrecht added.
The special elections will be supervised by the Institutional Services Department under Engr. Herman Agpawa.
Zamsureco II was organized and incorporated on May 8, 1980 under the provisions of Republic Act 6038, also known as the National Electrification Administration Act. (VoxPop Philippines)
