THE 19-year-old female college student who was robbed and killed in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City will be laid to rest tomorrow, October 29.
Melcah Melgar, a sophomore at Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC)-Alijis, will be interred at the Handumanan Public Cemetery at noon.
The CHMSC held a prayer vigil for Melgar at the school campus on Thursday.
Melgar was found dead by her parents at Purok Sambag in the said barangay on October 19 after she was allegedly killed by 32-year-old Rene Boy Pesquera of Purok Salong, Manapla, Negros Occidental.
Pesquera was arrested by personnel of Police Station 7 on Wednesday after he was positively identified by the witnesses when he returned at the crime scene.
Chief Inspector Charles Gever, head of Police Station 7, said robbery with homicide charges were already filed against Pesquera on Thursday.
He will undergo a preliminary investigation, Gever added. (GYM)
