A SOLDIER was shot and wounded after a drinking spree gone awry in Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Monday, December 12.
Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula spokesman Rogelio Alabata identified the wounded soldier as Corporal Alfero Oranda, 28, of the 17th Special Force Company based in Baluno, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Alabata said Oranda was allegedly shot and wounded by Rommel Enriquez around 3:35 a.m. Sunday in the village of Talibug, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
He said Oranda and Enriquez have engaged in a heated altercation while having a drinking spree prior to the shooting incident.
Alabata said Enriquez allegedly mauled and shot Oranda with the use of 9-mm pistol while they were on the way home.
He said Enriquez has gone into hiding while Oranda was taken to the hospital for treatment.
