Spooks and Treats

IT’S that time of the year again when spooky fun, creative costumes, and tons of treats are being anticipated. Last October 31, almost a thousand kids joined the Trick or Treat and the Kid’s Halloween Costume Contest at SM Lanang Premier, SMX Lobby, Davao City.

Kids with ages 4 to 12 years old dress up like little fairies, Maleficent and monsters, while kids with ages 12 and below walk around with pumpkin pail to either get a trick or a treat.

Every P1,000 single or accumulated purchase from any participating tenants of SM Lanang Premier entitles shopper to one registration.

For the Halloween Costume Contest, there are three categories, namely Hallow king, Hallow Queen, and Beast mode. Participants came in full costume and paraded the stage as Harley Quinn, Joker, ghouls, witches, animals and princesses.

Winners took home SM Gift Certificates for each category. Criteria for judging include Visual Impact (30 percent), Creativity (30 percent), Adherence to the theme (20 percent), and Stage presence (20 percent).

The judges for the event were Mr. Jay Madulara (Branch Manager of SM Dept. Store), Ms. Weena Grace Gosredo (Branch Manager of Toy Kingdom) and Ms. Noelle Marie Martin (SM Cinema Branch Manager).

Kids’ also enjoy the Magic show by Mr. James Infiesto, They were a little rowdy at times, but he was able to grab their attention. The Spooks and Treats also featured pocket activities, like face painting, coloring activity and balloon twisting.

Mall tenants open its doors to trick-or-treaters to enjoy a safe and fun indoor alternative. The Spooks and Treats event was a success and probably the only place where visitors can shake hands with a friendly pirate or two and leave with the biggest bag of loot on dry land!
