STALLION Laguna football club (FC) tests home team Ceres Negros FC at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, with an aim to snatch their first win in the first round of the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
The Stallions are currently ranked seventh in the table with three draws for three points settling for a scoreless draw against San Miguel Davao Aguilas and a one-all scores against Meralco Manila and Global Cebu.
The Ernest Nierras-mentored team will have former Ceres FC striker Joshua Beloya and goalkeeper Benito Rosalia alongside Ilonggo skipper and national player Ruben Doctora.
Also suiting up are strikers Terence Linatoc, Nathan Alquiros, Yannick Tuason, Nicholas Ferrer and Julian Miranda; midfielders Arnel Casil, Fitch Arboleda, Jay Soberano, Loren Urtula, Ronnie Aguisanda, Iñigo Gonzales and Jesus Melliza; defenders Bervic Italia, Matthew Nierras, Jose Montelibano, Darwin Regala, Reynald Villareal and Yuki Verzosa; and co-keeper Andy Tan.
Its foreign reinforcements are Ivory Coast custodian Roland Sadia, defender Christian Nana from Senegal, and Japanese Ryota Ishikawa (midfielder), and Ryo Tamiya (forward).
Ceres FC is expected to come out with another big game after defeating Kaya FC Makati City last June 24. The Busmen are undefeated at home this season, registering a lone draw against Felda United of Malaysia during the AFC Cup Group G match.
Ceres coach Risto Vidakovic said that fans can expect tougher defensive plays against the homeside similar to what they saw during their match against Kaya FC.
Leading the team standing is JP Voltes Marikina City with six wins and pair of defeats followed by Meralco Manila with five victories and pair of draws.
Global Cebu FC is in third spot with three wins, a draw and two defeats, and Kaya FC with three wins, a draw, and three losses.
