EAGERLY anticipated each year is the “coming home” of alumnae of St. Theresa’s College (STC-Cebu). More than 11 different jubilarian classes celebrate. From the diamond, gold, silver, sapphire, ruby, emerald, pearl, coral etc.
The rambling STC campus was the venue, with the theme: “Evolve, Enhance, Elevate, Advance: Theresians—A Global Woman.”
This year’s golden girls were members of HS class 1967, which originally numbered 63, of which four have gone to heaven. But they had an unprecedented attendance of 38 from all corners of the globe!
From the USA and Europe jetted in: Beverly Bayani-Muller, Maria Milagros Barrica-Quijano, Ceferina Barba-Savin, Marilyn Borromeo-Wesner, Maria Johanna Binamira, Cristina Canga-Jalandoni, Maria Nieves Escaño-Garrido, Filnara Fernandez-Derrington, Josephine Flores-Faelnar.
The list continues; Yvonne Go, Everdinah Miñoza-Bierke, Carmelita Padilla-Roa, Maria Socorro Quisumbing-King and Maria Lourdes Unchuan-Hurlbut.
Eight girls arrived from Manila: Myrna Gener-Syyap, Gwendolyn Jacinto, Coralyn Guinto-del Rosario, Daisy Noval-Morales, Maria Esperanza Osmeña, Agnes Pimentel-Paynor, Maria Corazon del Rosario-Tanjuatco and Mary Ann Villa-Porquez.
Flying in from nearby islands were Maria Stella Flordeliz-Lezama (Dumaguete); Elizabeth Lim-Yu (Cagayan de Oro); Remedios Ocaya-Soriano (Bukidnon).
Even three elementary school members joined in: Anne Eggeling (Germany), and from Cebu, Carmen Velez and Maria Milagros Villareal.
Meanwhile, the hard-working locals had a detailed itinerary prepared for the balikbayans.
