AMERICAN comedian/host Steve Harvey has arrived in Manila ahead of the much-anticipated 65th Miss Universe pageant.
The television personality was welcomed by former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson and officials of the Department of Tourism on Saturday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Harvey is in the Philippines to host the Miss Universe pageant.
To recall, he made a boo boo in last year's competition when he mistakenly announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the new Miss Universe instead of the real winner, Pia Wurtzbach from Philippines.
In a recent television appearance, Harvey described the whole experience as a "four-minute of pure hell."
"It was like hell up there. It was crazy. I'm a smart guy. I can read. I read the teleprompter but the guy in my ear said read the next name and just say it," he said.
After realizing the error he made, Harvey said he decided to go back on stage and man up his mistakes.
"I said, 'No, I'm going to do it now'. I walked out there. It was the most gut-wrenching walk I've ever had in my life."
Meanwhile, American rap artist Flo Rida is back in the country to perform during the pageant.
This will be Flo Rida's second visit in the Philippines after staging a concert back in September 2010.
He's behind hit music "Right Round," "Whistle," "Wild Ones," and "Good Feeling" to name a few.
Aside from the rapper, 90s vocal group Boyz II Men will also perform on Monday, January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. (VoxPop Philippines)
