THE Davao City Transportation and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) said no road accidents were reported here during the fight of the world boxing champion and Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao versus Jessie Vargas in Las Vegas on Sunday, November 6.
CTTMO head retired Superintendent Rhodelio Poliquit said only few public utility jeepneys and vehicles travelled last Sunday, as majority of the public stayed in their respective houses and/or establishments to watch the live streaming.
"Just like the assessment of the police na zero crime rate tayo during the fight of the world boxing champion Pacman, wala din kaming na record na major or even minor road accidents in the city. Konti lang ang bumyahe," Poliquit said.
Now that the regular activities in the city is back to normal, Poliquit said, the CTTMO reminded the public to stay calm and considerate with the ongoing road and infrastructure projects of the national government and the water district.
Poliquit said they are doing their best to manage the traffic situation in the city. He added that the CTTMO will submit a proposed traffic plan to Department of Transportation (DOTR), next week, to resolve the traffic woes in Davao City.
The CTTMO official could not give further details on the traffic plan, as the decision would be up to the DOTR whether to implement it. Poliquit added that if the DOTR will approve their proposal, there will be changes on the routes. (ICT)
