CEBU City's leading basketball training camp Online Basketball Training Camp (OBTC) ended on a high note Tuesday, May 9, at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Gym, J. P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City.
Over 30 participants in Davao City underwent specialized training designed by former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player and camp director Mark Tallo who was assisted by coaches Jay Pacada and John Abad.
Tallo, in an interview Tuesday, said the five-day training camp was designed for children seven years old and above.
"We teach them the basics of basketball and developed their innate skills. So far all of them were able to improve even on day two," Tallo said in vernacular.
Participants, students and out-of-school youth, were able to learn new skills and develop their dribbling, passing and shooting techniques with the help of OBTC's specialized equipment.
Zoerich Pantoja, a Grade 9 student of Daniel R. Aguinaldo High School (Dranhs) said the OBTC boosts his confidence having learned basketball basics and will undergo tryout again to earn a spot in the Dranhs varsity team
Gabbby Amisola, a Grade 6 varsity player of the University of Immaculate Concepcion, said he wants to learn more about basketball and experience high-quality training.
"Gusto ko po maging PBA player pag dating ng araw," Amisola said.
The OBTC will resume in June in a still undetermined venue.
