OVER 2,000 young boys and girls with ages eight to 15 have signed up for the month-long Summer Learn to Play a Sport program that reeled off Monday, May 1.
The summer sports camp, which is part of the City Government's sports development program, aims to teach the participants the basics and principles of their chosen sports discipline for free.
In her message during the opening program, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the summer sports program has been proven to be a success, citing the numerous athletes who have won medals in national and international sports competitions.
Salazar urged the parents to take the opportunity and enroll their children in the summer camp to hone the children's talents and capabilities and eventually become productive citizens in the future.
