POPULAR musicians in the 80’s are back in Baguio to treat music lovers with all time favorite tunes and most requested songs today.
Fresh from years of music stint in Thailand, members of the Kings Band, a popular show band in the Summer Capital more than two decades ago, are now home ready to give the kind of music entertainment that they have been known for through the years, although no longer as a full band.
Reputable Pomar siblings, singers Clemence, Pacita, and Nida with bassist Johnny teamed up for the launching of the Cross Roads Bar along Naguilian Road, a venture which officially opened on May 12 elevating the appreciation of the community in music to a higher level.
The acoustic duo of couple Clemence and Danny del Rosario, husband and wife Pacita and Benjie Fontanilla, with guitarist-singer Rey Pomar and older brother bassist Johnny who is home for good after years of stay in the United States, take turns as featured performer for the day playing variety music from favorite oldies but goodies genre like rock and roll to jazz and ballad.
The preferred compositions of the millennials like pop, rock, and alternative are also part of the line-up of the musicians who know the audience’s favorite songs.
It may just be a new place but it is already starting to be a haven for great musicians in the city like veteran journalist-musician Alfred Dizon who frequently join in the jamming on stage whenever he visits the place.
It is good to know that great musicians are coming home and venturing into a new place where everyone can listen to quality music and watch classy performances. Such venue can be another attraction for tourists in the City of Pines.
