THE fire officer who allegedly killed an overseas Filipino worker reported to work on Monday morning, March 26, after he gained temporary liberty.
Senior Fire Officer 1 Richard Sacedon and his alleged cohort Jerome Fernandez were released from Carcar City Jail on Thursday, March 22, after the court granted their bail application. Their bail was at P200,000 each.
Both accused were charged with murder over the death of Ramil Onod Empleo. The two are still required to attend court hearings or risk the cancellation of bail.
Lawyer Rameses Villagonzalo, in a press statement, said his clients hoped that their names will be cleared soon.
Sacedon allegedly shot Empleo to death inside the latter's home in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City in the evening of April 11, 2016, while Fernandez helped him dumped the victim's body in Barangay Tabunan, Cebu City.
A murder complaint was filed against Sacedon and Fernandez on June 13, 2016.
Empleo's wife, Haide, was named respondent in the parricide complaint for allegedly conniving with Sacedon.
Sacedon surrendered in Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 17 on December 2016, after learning a warrant of arrest was issued against him. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
