CATBALOGAN CITY -- A suspected drug pusher was busted in an anti-drug entrapment set up by Samar police last August 30, police said.
A certain Arnel Labongray, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Guinsorongan, transacted to sell a sachet of a methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, to a client who turned out to be a police asset around 3:40 p.m. of August 30.
The Catbalogan police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), along with police and Army intelligence personnel, seized from Labongray one piece of heat-sealed white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with initial marking “RJB” (subject of sale), P500 cash, and P9,500.
Following the drug bust, the anti-illegal drug authorities conducted a thorough search at the house of Labongray by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Janet Cabalona of Regional Trial Court Branch 33 in Calbiga Samar.
Confiscated from Labongray's house were assorted aluminum tin foils, sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, white transparent plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves, an improvised water pipe, a scissor, lighters, and bundles of cellophanes.
Labongray, who did not resist arrest, is now under the custody of the Catbalocan police. Charges are set to be filed against him. (Ricky Bautista)
