CHRISTIAN Talamor scored a penalty goal in the 65th minute to lift Iloilo over Negros Occidental, 1-0 and emerged the champion of the recently-concluded 1st Governor’s Cup Regional Invitational U15 Football Championship played at the Iloilo Sports Complex.
The Negrense side ruled Iloilo during the elimination round, 2-1 on the goals of Reuben Allen Liamsing while Rolf Alminaza for the latter side.
En route the finals, Iloilo ripped Capiz, 17-0 led by RJ Ollidinaraj’s hat-trick in the 58th, 63rd and 74th minutes while Talamor, Alminaza, Mel Baylon, Zymone Biñas and Axel Andres fired two goals each, as Pillora Jil Sander, Archie John Belluga, Justin Clavaton, and Adrian Oren Diaz had a goal apiece.
Eventual Best Striker awardee Joshua Limco anchored Negros Occidental in a 12-0 demolition over Aklan with five goals as Chyle Miraflores, Justin Raven Mesina and Gerhard Moreno hit two goals each while Ram Treyes added one goal.
Iloilo’s Kondrad Keim Sollorin was named Most Valuable Player and Best Defender as teammate Mel Baylon was chosen Best Midfielder while Negrense Regiezald Cabistrante was named Best Goalkeeper.
Capiz settled for second runner-up honors. (HGD)
