AS IT celebrates its 30 years in the food industry this year, Tapa King (TK) introduces its offerings of Lutong Bahay, Kaing Bahay campaign in Mindanao.
TK has already gained popularity nationwide because of its home-cooked meals with Filipino vibes that certainly hold a place in Filipinos' hearts. Their meals hit to the masses because of the all-time Pinoy favorite dishes they offer at a very affordable price.
The established Filipino food chain earlier revealed that TV show host, businessman and Presidential son Sebastian "Baste" Duterte is their new brand representative. The management said that they chose Baste to carry the brand because of his characteristic similar to their menu with no frills and no pretentions.
"As we expand our presence in Mindanao, we wanted someone who completely embodies the way we serve food," Tapa King Executive Vice President for Operations Sandro Gonzales said in an interview. "Baste has authentic Filipino grit, the kind who eats without pretenses. What you see is what you get with him, which is essentially what we are."
"In today's overly-staged, filtered, and curated world, Tapa King stands out by being one of the few remaining places where people can just be themselves, and eat as if they were in their homes," Gonzales said.
Since the opening of the first TK store in Davao in 2015, the fast food chain continues to advance its presence in Mindanao. TK turns to be a much-preferred dining haven by Dabawenyos who seek for delicious array of food offering to suffice their cravings without spending too much.
Do not be mistaken by the name of the store, they do not only serve the best premium tapa meals in the country but there are also other Filipino cuisines such as Kare-Kare, Bulalo, Pinakbet, Smoked Bangus, Crispy Liempo with mouth-watering desserts and a lot more to feast on.
Baste Duterte, during a meet and greet at TK's branch in Quirino, Davao City, last November 29, said that what sets TK apart from other known established food chain is that the food they serve suits the taste buds of the public with a relaxing ambience to enjoy.
"Pagdating sa pagkain, I'm the type who enjoys what I want, kahit sa'n pa man 'yan. Wala nang arte-arte. The best for me 'pag relax lang, when it makes me feel at home. 'Yun ang gusto ko sa Tapa King - 'yung parang may lutong-bahay kang mauuwian," Baste said.
When asked about his favorite, Baste cites the Tapa King as his go-to, with its best-tasting Bulalo and Tapa Flakes, served with garlic rice, sunny side up egg, and atchara.
Home-cooked legacy
Tapa King's original tapa recipe has been around for years. Tapa King prides itself in serving quality meals from a menu of delectable Pinoy favorites.
