THE ECJ Farmworkers Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Efarbemco) told Task Force Mapalad on Tuesday, January 24, to stop spreading half-truths about the program in its farms.
This was the reaction of Efarbemco to the "Update" posted by TFM Negros Cojuangco Workers Campaign on its Facebook page.
The update stated that the breakaway group is composed of "the legitimate land reform beneficiaries, and not the cooperative," Efarbemco chair Edgar de la Rama said in a press statement.
The Efarbemco earlier brought their complaint for illegal occupation against the ECJ CLOA Holders Association (ECJCHA) before the Parad.
They said the breakaway ECJCHA is hampering their operations.
De la Rama said: "The truth is, there are 1,756 land reform beneficiaries here, and they formed the Efarbemco. The truth is, the lands have been turned over to the beneficiaries under a collective certificate of land ownership award that cannot be cut up."
He said the land reform scheme in the Cojuangco landholdings were unanimously approved by the beneficiaries in 2004.
"In fact, our records show that the leader of the breakaway group, Joel Nochepo, was the one who had moved for its approval in a general meeting," De la Rama added.
