A POPULAR adage says “do not judge a book by its cover” but foodies too must not judge a restaurant by its facade.
Think of a cozy and expensive-looking restaurant and one would already make an assumption that the price ranges on their menu are quite costly.
Consider Camaro Grill, a newly-opened restaurant at Tionko St. in Davao City, as an exception.
The name Camaro Grill sure sound adventurous and it does not disappoint as the place lives up to the name through its ambiance that emits an adventurous feels.
This only seemed to fit to the fondness of the owners, Imee Therese Bisnar-Ingco and her husband Jayson Ingco, to travel around the country and even abroad.
In an interview, Imee said the name of the resto was inspired from her and her husband’s dream car, the Camaro.
She said since both of them love to travel, they had tasted different cuisines that were served at the different restaurants in places where they go.
More than two months since the resto opened on September 1, Imee said the business is performing well so far. The resto draws crowds coming from people with different ages who prefer to eat Filipino traditional food or Lutong-Bahay.
“When they think of Camaro Grill, what comes to mind are traditional Filipino food as we promote these,” Imee said in Filipino.
Imee and her husband both had knowledge in cooking as the former recalled that she grow up helping her mother in managing their carenderia business before while his husband was also a graduate of a hotel and restaurant management degree. Aside from this, Imee added that she also once worked at a restaurant in Finland.
“Our target customers are Dabawenyos of all ages. We treat our customers equally regardless of their economic background,” Imee shared.
When asked what their principle is when it comes to customer service, Imee simply said they want their customers to feel at home and welcome.
To add to the fun of dining, the resto also offers a live acoustic music every night for their customers.
