REGIONAL champions Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts (BTTHS) are in high spirits to defend their Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (Nopsscea) volleyball secondary girls’ crown.
Jose Montalbo, vice chair for sports of BTTHS, yesterday said they are very confident to defend their title and bring home the championship.
“The Tay Tung volleybelles have been preparing for the past eight months,” he said. “We will also represent Region 6 in the upcoming Shakey’s National Championship this December.”
The Thunderbolts avenged their pair of defeats against Central Philippine University in summer with a come-from-behind victory to capture the Shakey’s Volleyball Girls Season 15 Western Visayas/NIR Leg held at the Iloilo Doctors’ College in Iloilo City.
The Thunderbolts came off two sets down 10-25, 18-25 but recovered, 25-10, 25-17 and 15-9 to secure tickets to the National League of Champions 2017 in Laguna.
