Tay Tung, STI WNU lead NBTC Bacolod

BACOLOD Tay Tung High School and STI West Negros University (WNU) came out with solid games to end the elimination round atop the table of the 2018 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Bacolod Leg.

Tay Tung downed St. John’s Institute, 109-80 and Negros Occidental High School, 103-58 to book a 4-0 slate in Bracket A while dropping SJI to No. 2 spot with 3-1 and NOHS at No .3 with 2-2.

Completing the Bracket A standings are No. 4 Bata National High School (1-3) and Trinity Christian School (0-4).

STI WNU bested a triple tie with University of St. La Salle and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos on a 3-1 win-loss record.

Despite their 84-89 loss to USLS during their last match on Wednesday, STI WNU was able to outscore UNO-R on Tuesday, 101-78. Meanwhile, UNO-R survived USLS last week, 82-80.

La Consolacion College-Bacolod and Mansilingan Christian Academy settled for the last two spots in Bracket B.

At press time, reigning runner-up Tay Tung and defending regional champions USLS are playing for the first semi-final match at Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym followed by the STI WNU and SJI semis face-off at the STI-WNU gym. (HGD)
