Tay Tung Thunderbolts bag Milo Olympics title

THE Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) secondary boys basketball team zapped favorite Ateneo de Cebu, 65-46 in the recent 2016 Milo Little Olympics held in Cebu City.

Mart James Barrera fired 24 points and Jayson Puray added 15 markers to anchor Tay Tung's win to frustrate and score a big upset over Ateneo.

The Thunderbolts’ secondary girls’ volleybelles finished first runner-up while the badminton and chess teams settled for bronze.

The secondary girls shuttlers are Danielle Grace Lopez, Yana Ysabel Chua, Ann Loraine Cario and Ciara Ella Salvio while the boys team include Cody Torres, Sean Justin de Jesus, Joshua Elijah Templora, and Kenneth Ernest Delfin.

The woodpushers are Hans Benedict Gaw Te, Christian Andrew Lim, Erl Jireh Martinez and Cedric Severino.

In athletics, Jaden Rivera won the gold in the secondary boys’ staple chase and finished third in the 1,500m. May Gula settled for silver in the 800m and 4x100m relay alongside Antonette Aguillon, Erica Kee, and Audrey Su.

The Thunderbolts team also took the bronze in the 4X400m relay as Aguillon also finished with a bronze in the 100m and 200m dash. (HGD)
