FORMER Makati representative Teodoro Locsin Jr. has accepted President Rodrigo Duterte's offer to be the Philippine envoy to the United Nations (UN), a Palace official said Sunday.
Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar told reporters that he was in touch with Locsin Saturday night and informed him that the former lawmaker indeed met the President at Bahay Pangarap.
"Congressman Locsin said he accepted the position as UN Ambassador," he said.
Locsin, who is currently hosting a segment of a television news program, will replace Ambassador Lourdes O. Yparraguirre.
He was also the press secretary and speech writer of late President Corazon Aquino. (SDR/Sunnex)
