Teenage boy electrocuted

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was electrocuted while gathering leaves for his family's cow on Sunday morning, December 3, in Barangay Villahermosa, Pilar, Camotes, Cebu.

Police Officer 1 Ruben Aguilar, desk officer, identified the fatality as Yves Alimento Romo, a resident of Ilang-ilang, Villahermosa.

Investigation showed Romo climbed a Jackfruit tree before the incident happened past 8 a.m.

While getting leaves, the boy accidentally touched a live wire of Camotes Electric Cooperative (Celco).

Romo was rushed to Pilar Municipal Health Center, where he was announced dead around 9 a.m.

Relatives reported the incident to the police station after the boy's death.

Aguilar said the investigator is waiting for the boy's family to lodge a complaint against Celco. He also said no representative approached the police station on Monday morning, December 4, to inquire about the incident. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
