BAM Tongo emerged champion in the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) monthly finals title held at the NCCC Mall B3 Center Lanes Sunday evening, October 8.
Top-seed Tongo, who secured the twice-to-beat advantage after leading the eight-round eliminations with 1,681 pinfalls, outclassed Jesrael Rule, 198-196, in the step-the-ladder match of the event organized by Datba.
Rule, however, defeated Mike Aquiatan, 156-110, to arrange a titular showdown with Tongo. Aquiatan, for his part, bested Gab Velasco, 224-181.
Rule placed second while Aquiatan and Velasco placed third and fourth, respectively.
Tongo received P7,000 and a trophy while Rule got P4,000, Aquiatan had P2,000 and Velasco went home with P1,000.
The Datba weekly qualifying bowling tournament will resume tonight at the same venue.
