CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- “Huwag po kayong matakot. Maraming kapulisan pa rin ang matitino at ‘yung mga loko-loko, inaaksyonan ng PNP (Do not be afraid. There are still decent and trustworthy policemen and those rogue cops are being penalized by the Philippine National Police).”

Thus said Pampanga Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta following the alleged “tanim droga” incident that transpired in Bacolor town recently.

Consulta said that his office is now conducting an investigation regarding the alleged “illegal operation” of the Bacolor police, elements of the Pampanga police, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Luzon that victimized an employee of the Pampanga Provincial Engineering Office.

The Commission on Human Rights on Wednesday, May 10, also called for a probe on the alleged “tanim droga” incident.

Consulta added that the internal cleansing program of the PNP to discipline the rogue and scalawag cops and gain the public’s trust anew is ongoing and has been reinforced.

“Hindi naman pinapabayaan ng PNP ang mga ganitong kaso. Katulad po ng sa Bacolor, narelieve na po ‘yung mga involved as an immediate measure,” he said.

He added that policemen are also afraid of engaging in illegal activities nowadays since the public have become fearless in reporting crimes either on social media or to police stations.

Consulta also urged the public to immediately report any illegal activities involving policemen to his office as he does not tolerate such acts.

He added that Kapampangans can also use the “Isumbong mo kay PD” hotline which he personally attends to.
