DURING the tour in Sagada, El Nido, and Zamboanga City, I was not only introduced to the amazing destinations in the Philippines but I also got to meet the wonderful Meileilan Usin-Mattinson (colorsofmei.com), whom I worked with for her Philippine Tour.
Mei, who hails from Zamboanga City and now based in Wisconsin, United States (US), started blogging around a year ago after her wedding.
However, it took her a while to finally start her blog as she was focused in achieving her goals in the medical field. She is currently a nurse anesthesiologist in the US.
"I knew that fashion is in me, time went by and I forgot about it. I was so focused on achieving my goals in the medical field and now I am settled, I feel like I must unleash something. And this is through curating my own style along with my passion in traveling places. I like to get inspiration through the beauty I see around me," Mei said.
Mei said now that she is settled, she felt like she must unleash "something" and that is through curating her own style along with her passion in travelling places.
"I told my husband I feel like I do want to document my life in a creative way. I want to express my mood and feelings through colors or whatever comes into my mind. Something fun and inspiring," she said, adding that she likes to get inspiration through the beauty she sees around her.
Starting a fashion blog was just the right path for her as when she was still young, she already loves to play dress up. Her interest in fashion continues to grow through reading the weekend edition of a national daily.
"I remember getting excited each time I read the Sunday Inquirer newspaper. I love that section where people dress up on special events," Mei said.
Mei's blog, Colors of Mei, focuses on colors and inspirational messages.
"My goal is to inspire both your wardrobe as well as your sense of adventure and fun. Colors represent emotions and mood and it does represent me in the given moment," she said.
Visitors of her blog can expect bright, colorful, and inspirational posts from Mei. The photos on her blog are colorful and lively as well with Mei wearing stunning dresses in beautiful locations.
Mei also shares her travels to different parts of the Philippines, US, and the world.
"I will be traveling often both locally and internationally so stay tuned for more adventures. I will be wearing different style of clothing’s for four different seasons -- Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall," she said.
