Traffic enforcers among violators of helmet use

TWO more personnel of Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) were suspended for one month without pay for not wearing helmets.

Suspended were Kingmar Cordero and John Robert Camento, who were caught in a cellphone video, riding a motorcycle without helmets a few days ago.

Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, said the two traffic enforcers were immediately suspended after the report reached his office.

Also suspended without pay was traffic aide Marlyn Dahil-Dahil after she was apprehended by Acebuche in a police checkpoint for the same offense while on board a motorcycle along Lizares-Lacson Streets.

Three trainee-policemen were also apprehended for not using helmets.

More than 500 erring motorcycle drivers were apprehended since the strict enforcement last Monday of City Ordinance (CO) 455 amended by CO 535 requiring motorcycle riders to wear protective helmets.
