Tribes urged to conduct tourism events in Davao

IN A BID to showcase more of Davao City's culture, its well- renowned 11 tribes were urged to host community-based tourism.

City Tourism Office head Gene Rose Tecson said during the Ispeak Forum on Thursday, September 15, the agency is looking into training the tribes to beef up their livelihood.

"This is for them to continue to practice their culture and at the same time become an alternate source of income," she said.

Tecson added the city has alotted P17 million to fund tourism activities and projects for the year.

The budget will cover the trainings of tribesmen who are willing to conduct tourism activities. (CCC)
