TRINITY Christian School (TCS) and St. John’s Institute (SJI) captured the titles of the 1st St. John the Baptist Volleyball Tournament held over the weekend in Bago City.
Back-to-back Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (Nopsscea) elementary champions Trinity dominated the Bago City tourney against the host, La Carlota City, University of St. La Salle, SJI and the Calvary Baptist Academy of Pontevedra.
The Trinity volleybelles included Kyra Palma, Celine Elizabeth Marsh, Gwynneth Mari Tamayo, Lianna Therese Figueroa, Sofia Katrina dela Cruz, Pauleene Visaya, Jaimee Charisse Alic, Keisha Padayhag, Jullianne Gayle Almario, Mariel Congie Romero, Ryeangel Joy Carmona, and Rome Christine Rayeuan Waminal.
Their successful program also led its secondary girls to finish silver medal during the Nopsscea behind Keya Gargar, Claudia Villanueva, Hannah Develos, Ainne Arela, LeAnn Lorraine Develos, Erika Jin Deloria, Gwyn Maricon Lopez, Daneea Jardiolin and Roxette Costan.
Trinity coaches were Peter Yusay, Michael Baloyo and Herbel Bello while representing the school were sports coordinator Andrew Tan, and faculty member Rose Ann Diwatin.
Meanwhile, SJI ruled the 18 and under event participated by 11 teams from both the public and private schools in the province. (HGD)
