UNIVERSITY of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) beat Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV), 61-44 in game 2 Thursday to set up a do-or-die match in the best-of-three finals of Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (Nopsscea) men’s basketball.
The green and white balloons did not fall as the Elvis Atinado-mentored Titans succumbed to the Rams’ aggressiveness during the match held at the STI West Negros University gym in Bacolod City.
The CSAV has the tallest average ceiling among the seven collegiate teams this season.
Unstoppable Jeffrey Manday, acrobatic Jeric Adorio, slamdunking Cameroonian JR Essakadoualla, Vladimir Pangantihon, Carl Magbanua have been delivering the goods for team managers Paolo and PO Cruz to reach the finals this year, and vowed to bring home the title this season.
“It’s been our dream to win this championship title and we want it this time having missed it last year,” the basketball-loving brothers said.
CSAV entered the top four, but lost to UNO-R in the semifinal last year and vowed to return which it did this year. (HGD)
