ISABELA town Mayor Joselito Malabor said he is eyeing to update the town’s comprehensive land use plan to make way for progress.
Updating the town’s land use plan and implementing the necessary infrastructure will bring tangible development, he said in a press statement Thursday, January 18.
The aim is to establish access and circumferential roads in the three entry points to the town, which are La Castellana and Hinigaran from the north and Binalbagan from the south.
Malabor said the establishment of circumferential roads in the area would decongest the traffic in the town, which is caused by cane trucks coming from the southern part of the province.
He added that urban greening program is also included in the proposed project.
“We will also undertake urban greening especially in the Poblacion, where we intend to plant trees to create a cool environment, not only for the locals but for the visitors as well,” the mayor said.
He said the Municipal Government will also review its forest land use plan, as he is proposing to have co-management scheme in the town’s forestal areas.
Malabor said the Giant Cross located in the renowned Glory Hill in Barangay Mansablay can be classified into an eco-tourism site.
He added residents who migrated abroad have signified their intention to help in developing the area.
Meanwhile, Malabor said the peace and security program of the town remained to be a priority as it is a factor in ushering growth and development.
