UNIVERSITY of St. La Salle (USLS) Seniors Team and Christian Academy of Bacolod (CAB) came out with solid games to capture the titles in the men and women’s divisions, respectively, of the just-concluded Bacolod Open Tchoukball Championships at Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym.
The La Sallians avenged their 45-47 loss to CAB in the eliminations when they dominated the finals, 62-50. En route to the finals, USLS Seniors defeated Mansilingan First Baptist Church while CAB never gave Ikthus a chance.
CAB topped the table at the end of the eliminations at 6-0 while La Salle was at No.2 with 5-1. Complete team standing at the end of the preliminaries include: No. 3 Ikthus (3-3), No.4 MFBC (4-2), No.5 USLS Juniors (2-4), No.6 Sum ag (1-5), and No.7 Shiloh (0-6).
In the distaff side, CAB ruled over MFBC, 37-32 to win the women’s title. CAB finished the tournament with a clean sheet of 4-0 slate in the eliminations.
Following the successful staging of the Bacolod Open, John Jamelo of the Tchouckball Association of Negros said they will soon select players who will represent Bacolod in the next national open.
