THIS holiday season, Cebuanos will be treated to a spectacular ballet presentation of the immortal fairy tale classic, The Sleeping Beauty, when Cebu Centre for Dance (CCD) brings the story to life thru ballet.
Performances will be on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. Venue is SM City Cebu.
We shall not dwell on the storyline as we assume everyone has either read or heard about or even hummed the hauntingly beautiful Sleeping Beauty theme! Ask your mothers or grandmas about it.
The cast is as follows: Aurora - Sabrina Ruth Bogard; Prince Florimund - Paul Jayson Austria (guest artist from Manila); Lilac Fairy - Megan Marie Chan alternated by Giselle Abalos; Princess Florine - Monica Villarica alternated by Megan Marie Chan; Bluebird - Isaiah Joel Villamater (guest from Manila) alternated by Rufo Jeffrey Tapang; Carabosse - Penelope Ong alternated by Kristin Aldana-Lerin.

Have you ever sauntered into the cavernous lobby of the Radisson Blu Cebu hotel? If not, you’ll miss the dazzling spectacle of a towering, 32-foot Christmas tree, dripping with tinsel, trimmings and balls, and ablaze with varying shades of blue lights.
The tree lighting ceremony officially welcomed the festive season and had the following VIPs: President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. Elizabeth Sy; Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, Mrs. Jobel Davide, executive vice president Peggy Angeles joined by Radisson general manager Laurent Boisdron.
Entertaining the lively crowd were soprano Iona Ventocilla, musical theater artist Arman Ferrer with the melodious voices of the world-acclaimed Mandaue Children’s Choir and the University of the Visayas Chorale, with Charlene Nogra.
Highlight was the hotel’s responsible business initiative by partnering with different organizations, like Vicente Sotto Memorial Hospital Children’s ward; My Refuge House, an aftercare shelter for survivors of sexual abuse, trafficking, Island Rescue Organization (IRO) for rescued animals etc. These activities ushered in the “30 Days of Giving,” a month-long give back project of the hotel, to foster joy and goodwill, especially to the marginalized.
