GAB Velasco topped the Datba Monthly Finals Bowling Tournament held over the weekend at NCCC Mall Davao B3 Center Lanes.
Velasco, who made 1,616 pinfalls after eight games, humbled twice-to-beat NCCC B3 ambassadress Tessa Diane Galendez, 210-185, 207-182, who settled for the runner-up honors instead.
Velasco outclassed Joshua Disuacido, 207-191, in the step-the-ladder round. The latter placed third while Toto Delfin finished fourth.
Velasco, in a Facebook chat with VoxPop Davao, said he started slow.
"First game pa lang bagsak na masyado score ko, then pagka second game hanggang sa last game yung mindset ko is mag focus-lang sa game at iwasan mag open ng frames para medyo makabawi (I had a failing score in the first game, then in the second to the last game, I only focused on the game and avoided opening frames to redeem myself a bit)," he said.
Velasco took home P7,000 while the next three winners received P4,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
